Toby McClary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Pronouns: they/them.  Toby is non-binary and strives to not only be an ally to LGBTQ+ folks, but also an advocate and as such Toby works to support equality and acceptance through providing a safe, affirming space to every identity.  

Toby earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2006. In 2018, Toby obtained their Master's degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota. They previously worked in child welfare for 7 years and have experience working in an in-patient psychiatric hospital setting. Toby has a passion for working with children, families, and individuals from all cultures and walks of life.  Toby has obtained certificates in AutPlay Therapy and DC: 0-5 (diagnostics for mental health disorders in young children).  Toby is trained in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, MHFA suicide prevention, Basic Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). They are also certified in PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy) and are a PACC (Permanency and Adoption Competency) Certified therapist.

Toby was born and raised in the Moorhead-Fargo area and lives in the metro area with their partner and 4 children.  Toby and their family enjoy snuggling their fur babies, baking, reading true crime, horror and fantasy novels, and playing one of their over 400 boardgames.
