Mari Wanzek graduated from Minot State University with a bachelor's degree in social work. She has worked for private providers in the areas of disability services and child welfare with a focus on treatment foster care and adoption.  She received a master’s in social work (MSW) from Augsburg University in Minneapolis and continued to work with children and families. She believes in the resilience of children, families, and systems.  Having an interest in the area of teaching and learning, she later pursued an undergraduate degree in special education.  While working in the public-school system she also acquired a master’s certificate in Autism.  Mari is passionate about working with adults, families and their children and plans to continue to do so in and out of school settings.  

Mari specializes in treating anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, grief/loss. She has a special interest in working with those struggling with mental health concerns such as depression, and anxiety. Her other areas of interest include relational concerns, trauma, and grief.  She enjoys working with adolescents and families on transition issues and has worked with teens and their parents in various capacities for over 30 years. Mari is trained in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Brainspotting, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy. She is licensed in MN and ND.
